Calendar, Chew Kee Store
Fiddletown, CA - 2010
This exotic calendar hangs on a wall in the "Chew Kee Store," a rammed earth structure established as a Chinese herb shop during California's Gold Rush years (ca 1855). The store remains largely intact as one of only four remnants of the once thriving Chinese community in Fiddletown. It is open as a museum from April through October every year and gives a fascinating look into California history.
